    The Roy Guess Family is deeply saddened. While we did not know Jake personally, we felt as if we did. We watched him grow through the pictures on Mr. Simmons’ desk and through the updates of events that he would share with us. Our prayers are with the Simmons family. Love, Your Roy Guess Family

    Patrick & I are praying this for you & your family:

    Psalm 139:7-12.

    Where can I go from your Spirit?
    Where can I flee from your presence?
    8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
    if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
    9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
    if I settle on the far side of the sea,
    10 even there your hand will guide me,
    your right hand will hold me fast.
    11 If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me
    and the light become night around me,”
    12 even the darkness will not be dark to you;
    the night will shine like the day,
    for darkness is as light to you.

    “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven”.
    (Matthew 5:16)
    As a Christian, I have heard my entire life to let your light shine before the world, but I have never experienced anyone who put these words into practice the way that you have. Your faith is amazing and inspiring. You and Jacob have already touched more people than you know.
    Sincerely,
    Ed Stricker

    Bill and I are praying for your whole family. Jake was a joy to teach, a joy to listen to in AWANAS and a joy to know.

    My thoughts and prayers are with Jacob’s family during this trying time. Mr. Simmon’s and his family are dear to the Bingman Head Start family.

    When words can not comfort, prayers can. The God of the universe catches every tear and is close to the broken hearted. Lean on Him and we’ll keep the prayers coming.

    I’ve had a lot of sorrow in my life, but still I can’t imagine your pain. Even when I stumbled through days of grief stricken fog, giving God the silent treatment some days/weeks, the people I was surrounded by and the activities I mindlessly still attended were full of God’s presence and helped me find my way out to see His outpouring of blessings upon me like streams of light from a lighthouse. I pray that in your darkest moments, you will let your family & friends (& possibly strangers like me) be a lighthouse to draw you back towards the Light, so that you can feel God’s embrace and cry on His shoulder while praising Him for His gift of Heaven and His blessings of people surrounding and loving you.

    We’ve never met – and most likely – never will. I came to this site through a link from another site – and I viewed the picture gallery. As a mom whose goal was always to raise my children in a loving environment – to let them be children – and not small adults – I find myself enchanted by the happiness and calmness I see in the faces of your family members. I am so thankful for the evidence of the full life experience that Jacob enjoyed. I lost my firstborn three decades ago – when she was only a baby. As painful and dark as that time of my life seemed to me – I can not even fathom the pain of losing a child at the point which you have – watching him grow to near adulthood – and then having to let go like this. My prayers are with you – that you take great comfort in your memories – the many very happy days and adventures you shared – and no doubt will continue to share – with your children. God has blessed you wonderfully. Truly, I thank you for being such a wonderful example of His love. May God continue to bless you.
